An accused is under great stress to resolve his case. A plea bargain often ends the risk of jail time but creates a criminal record which will have lifetime consequences. Sometimes, the best option for the accused is to accept a guilty plea after negotiations but this should only be decided after the attorney has had time to thoroughly review all the evidence and interview all the witnesses. The best interest of the accused should be the primary accused for defense counsel which most often means no jail time.
