You’ll be glad to know that the process is much easier these days. The internet makes it easy to gain access to background information fast, with just the click of mouse.
There are a number of companies that offer an extensive online database that contains information on just about everyone. If you need background information, you just enter the person’s name in this database and wait for your results.
You might be surprised to find that there are a lot of different kinds of information available. You may come up with past addresses, job history, marriage and family court records, and all kinds of criminal proceedings and lawsuits. It’s pretty amazing how much you can find out about someone with just an internet connection.
Of course, these companies aren’t free. But don’t worry, the service isn’t terribly expensive. If you use it often, you can also pay a one-time membership fee for unlimited access to background check information.
If you want to try getting some free information first, do a quick Google search. Just type the person’s name in the search field, in quotes. For example, type “Bob Smith”. If you know where the person lives, include that too (e.g., “Bob Smith” Portland). Your results will pop up as soon as you click the search button.
In reality, chances are pretty slim that you’ll actually find relevant information. It can’t hurt to try, though. The only way any information will be available is if something is published online about the person, in which case Google will find it for you.
It’s easy to get the “skinny” on just about anybody with an online background check. With just your internet connection and couple of minutes, you can have access to a wealth of information with this handy tool.
